Charlene Sheffer
Charlene has lived all her life in Churchville, Virginia. She grew up singing with family who loved getting together. Making music was a big part of their lives. Elementary school choir encouraged her love for music. She was just out of high school when she started singing with the Heaven Heirs, a family gospel group started by her uncle, Boyd Wayne Hevener. They continued singing together for 17 years. Charlene’s love for music and singing didn’t stop there. She sang in the church choir as well as with her family on various occasions, in the Staunton Choral Society, and for a brief time in a Christian vocal group, As1. In December 2021 Janice Weeks, a long-time member of Heaven’s Mountain Band, retired. Charlene joined the group just after that in January 2022. For over 42 years Charlene worked as an administrative assistant for Potomac Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. After retiring from there in 2019 she now works part-time for Bear Funeral Home in Churchville. Charlene resides with her special cat, Chassie, in her family’s home place. She appreciates any opportunity to still sing for Jesus and share His love through the gift of music.

Jeannetta Bosley
Jeannetta has always loved music. Living with her grandad when she was a child, she would often see him pulling out the mandolin, banjo or harmonica to play.  At times some of his nine children would congregate at the house and their entire family would have a jam session with these instruments. Jeannetta sang her first duet at about age 6 in church. She has been involved in church and school music most of her life either playing piano, singing or organizing. She sang in a gospel music group with Boyd Hevener (Barry and Darin's dad) and three cousins for 17 years.  Having taken a break for a long period of time, Jeannetta felt God calling her back to the singing ministry again when Boyd became very ill. She then joined Heaven's Mountain Band in 2010. Jeannetta feels that music is a way to feel as close to God as in any other form of worship. She believes that songs have a way of touching a person the way nothing else can. Jeannetta has always lived in Churchville, Virginia, and became a licensed practical nurse in 1983. She was married to her husband Randy in 1994.   They have a son, Logan, who is now a member of the band.  She looks forward to joining the Heavenly choir and having the complete family circle!

Barry Hevener
Barry grew up in Churchville, Virginia and currently resides in Mount Solon, Virginia with his wife Martia and their two children, Luke and Sadie. (Oh, and a curious little cat named Banjo.) When Barry was 12 years old, his father Boyd, introduced him and his brother Darin to the wonderful world of music! Barry first learned to play on his grandfather's old mandolin and that sparked a love for music that still continues to grow today. Heaven's Mountain Band and its ministry play a huge part in that love for music and most importantly, Barry's love for Jesus.

Brian Anderson
Brian grew up in Richmond, Virginia and began playing the piano during his college years. His love for music led to travelling to the Shenandoah Valley on most weekends to play music with family members. It wasn’t long before he realized the weekend family group needed a bass player. He began messing around with the bass and developed his own music style. Brian has always had a keen ear for music sound quality and in 1999 joined his cousins in starting a Christian based recording business. Do to the weekend family music jams and the demands for the recording business, he decided to move to the Staunton area in 2001 to be near his family and studio. Soon afterwards, he became the full time sound-man for his independant Baptist church, and later that year, joined Heaven’s Mountain Band as bass player. Since joining the band, he has been the main provider for their sound equipment as well as being the band’s bus driver and treasurer. He also was instrumental in producing many of the band’s early recordings. During the years 2002-2005, Brian also played upright bass for the Harrisonburg, Virginia based group, Heartland. Once the schedules of both bands became too demanding, he left Heartland and remained with his original commitment to HMB where he continues to use his musical talent to share his love for Jesus with others. Brian now resides in Crimora, Virginia with his lovely wife, Amber, and their dog Bentley.

Mark Hackley
Mark inherited the music gene from his father’s side. He was born in Laurel, Maryland in 1961. He took guitar lessons from age 10 to 12 and is self-taught on the piano.  Mark is an avid songwriter and penned several of his first tunes before age 15. He teamed up with a classmate to write several songs he later recorded. Most of Mark’s early country songs were love ballads.  Later in life, his songwriting became more Christ-focused. As a self-published recording artist, he has recorded seven albums and performed with several area bands. He joined Heaven’s Mountain Band in 2022. Mark is very thankful for the saving grace of Christ and he loves the opportunity to share the Good News with everyone he can through his music. Mark is married to Jennifer who helps keep him straight! He has a son Benjamin who lives in Richmond, a step-son in London, England, and a step-daughter in Pittsburgh. When Mark is not playing music, he’s probably making signs, a career he chose at age 19.

Logan Bosley
Logan has always lived in Churchville, Virginia. From a very early age he had an interest in tinkering with electronics. This interest grew and his skills sharpened and led him to being sound tech at his church, and also a neighboring church during his late teens. He also played guitar for his church on occasion. A while later, Heaven's Mountain Band asked if he could run sound for them, which Logan did until the band lost their guitarist in 2019. The guys then asked him to help fill in with guitar on a last minute basis for a program, and the rest is history. He has been playing guitar ever since. Logan enjoys sharing his love for Jesus through music. He has been noted to say that he feels people would go listen to a gospel band, when they would not go to church to hear about God. He graduated from college with an Associates Degree in computer and electronics, and works locally for a major auto parts distributor. Logan married his sweet and lovely wife, Avery, in February 2023. They are in the process of renovating a small home in Churchville, Va, and hope to move in very soon.

Darin Hevener
Darin and his brother, Barry, began playing music as kids with the help of their father, Boyd. Boyd was a singer, songwriter, guitarist and patriarch of Heaven's Mountain Band until he passed away in 2008.  Darin played banjo with his father and brother growing up and has been privileged to play with other talented musicians and singers throughout the years.  In addition to the banjo, God also blessed him with the ability to play dobro for the group, as well as picking up a little guitar along the way.  Darin has his own style of playing his instruments. While not strictly bluegrass, his style helps to create the overall musical variety heard from Heaven's Mountain Band.  He sees his musical talent as a gift from God and seeks to use it as a means by which God may reach others with the saving message of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Darin currently lives in Staunton, Virginia with his beautiful Peruvian wife and son and works as a physician's assistant at a local hospital.
